DFS impact

The absences leave Philadelphia thinner on the wing and blue line. Our focus is where the remaining offensive work lands, especially on the power play.

Porter Martone’s power-play goal Saturday came with assists from David Jiricek and Denver Barkey. Flyers recap

Those three belong on the role-check list. Continued special-teams involvement could make them worth a closer look, but Saturday’s scoring play does not establish tonight’s assignments or make any of them an automatic value.

The next useful checkpoint is the pregame lineup update and warmups. We want the actual forward combinations, defensive pairings and power-play personnel before committing to a replacement play. Any added opportunity still needs to work at the player’s current slate salary.
