NFL Week 8 SNF DFS: Eagles vs. Commanders
Jayden Daniels leads the SNF pool, with Makai Lemon and Antonio Williams offering receiver Captain upside and Austin Ekeler providing salary relief.

Jayden Daniels is our starting point, but Makai Lemon and Antonio Williams give this Eagles-Commanders Showdown slate its most interesting Captain decisions. Philadelphia is missing DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks. Washington is replacing Terry McLaurin. Those absences put affordable receivers in the middle of the game, not just at the bottom of a lineup.

Daniels leads our Captain estimates at 27.9%. Lemon at 8.4% and Williams at 4.6% offer different constructions while retaining meaningful offensive roles. McKee is projected in 50.3% of FLEX slots, so pairing a receiver Captain with him does not make the entire lineup unusual.
Captain: Daniels first, receivers for a different build
Jayden Daniels
Daniels can lead this game in fantasy scoring without needing one receiver to dominate. His last appearance produced 300 passing yards and two passing touchdowns against San Francisco. His four starts have also included rushing totals of 31, 69, 103 and 10 yards. The upside comes from two different sources; the rushing production is not a weekly guarantee.
Daniels at Captain works with Williams or Diggs in FLEX. We do not need to force both receivers into every Daniels lineup. A rushing touchdown can carry his score without creating points for either pass catcher.
Makai Lemon
Lemon played 56 of Philadelphia’s 62 offensive snaps last week and caught seven of eight targets for 67 yards and a touchdown. With Smith and Wicks out again, that is a much stronger case than simply chasing a rookie’s first score. His Captain salary saves $5,100 compared with Daniels, enough to change the rest of the lineup. The Eagles detailed his expanded role after the Dallas game.
The concern is that last week was his first game above five catches. A Lemon Captain lineup needs another concentrated passing game. Pair him with Tanner McKee.
Antonio Williams
Williams is $800 cheaper than Lemon in FLEX and $1,200 cheaper at Captain. Dan Quinn specifically pointed to a larger target opportunity for Williams after McLaurin’s injury, rather than simply promising more work for Diggs. Williams already caught four passes for 64 yards and a touchdown against Philadelphia in Week 1. Washington’s explanation of the receiver changes supports the role.
His six-game receiving total is 18 catches for 205 yards. We are buying the bigger opportunity at a workable salary. Williams Captain belongs with Daniels in a Washington passing-game build.
The FLEX decisions that matter
Dallas Goedert versus the pricier receivers
Goedert has 24 targets and 17 receptions over his last three games. In McKee’s two starts, he has caught 11 of 15 targets for 109 yards. At $7,400, he costs $1,600 less than Diggs and has a direct connection to Philadelphia’s missing receivers.
We like Goedert as a central FLEX piece and a secondary Captain option. His 9.3% Captain estimate is well below Daniels, although 38.5% projected FLEX ownership makes him a popular piece overall. Washington has allowed touchdowns on 81.8% of opponents’ red-zone trips, while Philadelphia has scored touchdowns on 14 of 19 such possessions. Barkley and Lemon compete for those scoring opportunities. Those red-zone figures appear in Philadelphia’s November 1 game preview.
Tanner McKee and Stefon Diggs
McKee costs $8,800 after throwing 80 passes for 426 yards and two touchdowns across his two starts. He is a useful companion to Lemon or Goedert, but his limited rushing contribution makes it harder to justify paying the Captain premium over Daniels.
Diggs is $9,000 and has at least four catches in each of his five appearances. He is the steadier Washington receiver choice. We still prefer Williams for salary relief, and we are not treating McLaurin’s absence as evidence that every vacated target belongs to Diggs.
Saquon Barkley
Barkley has no game designation after returning to limited practice Friday. He leads our Philadelphia running-back choices. Barkley’s last game produced 62 rushing yards and a touchdown on seven carries, plus two catches for nine yards. Those seven carries leave us less confident in a full workload than usual, but Philadelphia has announced no workload restriction. Philadelphia’s final injury report cleared him to play.
Washington will be without defensive tackles Javon Kinlaw, Jer’Zhan Newton and Daron Payne. That leaves a depleted interior against Barkley and strengthens the case for Philadelphia scoring on the ground. The NFL injury report lists all three out.
At $9,800, Barkley belongs in builds where Philadelphia’s touchdowns come on the ground. We would rather make that deliberate choice than squeeze him in beside every expensive passer and receiver. Blue at $5,800 and Elijah Mitchell at $6,800 are expensive bets on backup work with Barkley available.
Salary relief: Austin Ekeler
Ekeler at $3,000 is the clearest way to afford the premium players without using a receiver whose offensive role is almost invisible. With Jacory Croskey-Merritt on injured reserve, Quinn has discussed expanding Ekeler’s workload. Washington’s October 29 report makes that opportunity explicit.
There is still a thin recent workload behind the recommendation: four receptions on five targets for 30 yards over his last three games, with only four carries over his last two. Ekeler offers salary relief with room for a larger role. His involvement also makes Rachaad White at $8,000 less automatic than the injury headline might suggest.
Two ways to build
Daniels-led lineup: $50,000
| Slot | Player | Salary |
|---|---|---|
| Captain | Jayden Daniels | $15,600 |
| FLEX | Tanner McKee | $8,800 |
| FLEX | Dallas Goedert | $7,400 |
| FLEX | Stefon Diggs | $9,000 |
| FLEX | Austin Ekeler | $3,000 |
| FLEX | Antonio Williams | $6,200 |
This spends on Daniels’ full scoring range and the Washington passing game. Goedert is the Philadelphia receiver exposure, and Ekeler makes both quarterbacks affordable. The tradeoff is no Barkley or Lemon.
Williams Captain lineup: $49,900
| Slot | Player | Salary |
|---|---|---|
| Captain | Antonio Williams | $9,300 |
| FLEX | Jayden Daniels | $10,400 |
| FLEX | Tanner McKee | $8,800 |
| FLEX | Stefon Diggs | $9,000 |
| FLEX | Dallas Goedert | $7,400 |
| FLEX | Jake Elliott | $5,000 |
Williams at Captain needs more than an ordinary three-catch night. This version benefits from his expanded role turning into a touchdown while both quarterbacks accumulate points. Elliott replaces Ekeler, so the lineup does not depend on Washington’s backfield split breaking our way.
Our final picks
Lemon and Williams are our preferred receiver Captains. Goedert is the Philadelphia FLEX priority. Daniels remains the first premium piece, while Barkley offers a different scoring path rather than a mandatory addition. Darius Cooper at $6,600 is harder to prioritize after just four receptions on eight targets over his last three games. A touchdown can change that result, but it does not erase the volume gap.
Treylon Burks and John Bates are active. Neither is in our example lineups. DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks and Britain Covey are out; Hurts, McLaurin and Croskey-Merritt remain on injured reserve.
