Steelers Rule Out Dean and Elliott; Ramsey Questionable vs. Colts
Jamel Dean and DeShon Elliott are out against the Colts, while Jalen Ramsey is questionable. Indianapolis has receiver decisions of its own.

The Steelers will face Indianapolis without cornerback Jamel Dean and safety DeShon Elliott on Sunday, October 11. Pittsburgh’s final Week 5 injury report lists both as out, while Jalen Ramsey remains questionable with a wrist injury.
Dean missed all three practices with an ankle injury. Elliott remains unavailable while working back from a knee injury, and Ramsey was limited Thursday and Friday. His improved practice participation has not removed the questionable designation.
What changes in Pittsburgh’s secondary
The Steelers identify rookies Daylen Everette and Robert Spears-Jennings among the younger defensive backs taking on injury-driven work. Their involvement matters to this matchup, but the report does not establish either player’s exact Sunday assignment or snap count.
The Colts players to watch
Indianapolis has its own receiving decisions to make. The Colts list Keenan Allen and Darius Slayton as questionable, with Ashton Dulin out.
For DFS, Josh Downs and Tyler Warren are the receiving options to reassess if Allen or Slayton misses. Less target competition would strengthen their opportunity case, while Pittsburgh’s depleted secondary adds matchup interest. If both questionable receivers play, the injury-driven target boost for Downs and Warren is smaller. Ramsey playing would also give Pittsburgh another experienced coverage option.
Final availability still comes before any blanket upgrade to the Colts passing game. The next important updates are Ramsey’s status and Indianapolis’ receiving group before Sunday’s game. Our Week 5 Friday injury roundup covers the other major decisions across the slate.
