NBA Betting for November 5: What the Player Simulations Say
Evening update, November 5 at 8:06 p.m. ET: The NBA’s 8 p.m. injury report still lists Giannis Antetokounmpo Available. Orlando remains without Paolo Banchero, Jalen Suggs, Jonathan Isaac, Izaiyah Nelson and Noah Penda; Phoenix remains without Mark Williams, Jordan Goodwin and Rasheer Fleming, and now also lists Drew Timme out on a two-way assignment. Golden State’s four listed absences are unchanged. RotoWire still labels all four starting lineups expected, not confirmed. Anthony Black appears in Orlando’s expected lineup; do not carry the previous game’s supporting-player roles forward automatically.
RotoWire’s checked market display shows Phoenix -1.5 with a 222.5 total and Golden State -3.5 with totals of 235.5–236.5 across its feeds. These are secondary reported prices, not directly verified sportsbook availability. The afternoon captures below are retained as timestamped history, not current offers. The player simulation results below are unchanged from the earlier completed run using history through November 2; this news and price check is not a fresh simulation run.
Updated prop comparisons: OpenSlate’s individual player pages checked at 8:06 p.m. ET report Franz Wagner under 36.5 PRA at -117 (53.9% price break-even), Giannis under 6.5 assists at -153 (60.5%), and Curry under 27.5 points at -112 (52.8%), attributed there to DraftKings. The unchanged published model fractions are 63.6%, 71.2% and 57.7% under, respectively. These conditional generated fractions are not calibrated hit rates or confirmed betting edges. Verify the exact book price and final roles before using them.
Afternoon board · Two games · First tip 9 p.m. ET
All four teams have submitted their injury reports, with Giannis Antetokounmpo listed Available for Miami. The market still needs a careful check: the latest ESPN feed omitted Heat–Warriors game prices, while another aggregator showed sizable differences across books. Use the exact number and price available to you, not an early-afternoon snapshot.
Phoenix has ruled out Mark Williams, Jordan Goodwin and Rasheer Fleming. Miami’s report was included in the NBA’s 3:45 p.m. ET update after its overtime win over the Clippers. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo each played 41 minutes in that game, while Davion Mitchell played 43. Those are not ordinary regulation workloads to carry straight into tonight. The latest game prices
Orlando at Phoenix, 9 p.m. ET. ESPN’s DraftKings feed showed Phoenix -1.5 at -104 and Orlando +1.5 at -116 when checked at 3:55 p.m. ET. The total was 222.5, over -115 and under -106. Moneylines were Phoenix -114 and Orlando -104. That is one point higher than the 221.5 captured at 3:23 p.m. ET. Magic–Suns
Miami at Golden State, 10 p.m. ET. ESPN returned no game odds in the scoreboard or game-summary checks at 3:55 p.m. ET. A separate BetSharp table, labeled 3:51 p.m. ET and checked at 3:56 p.m., reported DraftKings prices of Golden State -4.5 (-107), Miami +4.5 (-113), and a 235.5 total (-110 either way), with moneylines of Golden State -166 and Miami +139. The same table showed FanDuel at Golden State -7.5 (-102), Miami +7.5 (-120), and 232.5 over -116/under -106. That is a meaningful discrepancy, not a basis to claim a confirmed consensus move or an executable arbitrage. Verify the book directly. Heat–Warriors reported prices
How to use the simulation comparisons
The completed run produced 20,000 outcomes per admitted player, using November 5 status inputs and player history through November 2. Each percentage below is the share of those generated outcomes clearing the stated line, conditional on the player appearing and retaining his recent same-team role. These are not calibrated real-world hit rates. The model does not estimate appearance probability, reallocate missing teammates’ usage, or generate correlated team and game outcomes. No spread, total or parlay probability is established.
The quoted break-even percentages describe the price alone. Comparing them with a model fraction is useful for research, but does not establish a profitable edge or a bet to place. All quoted props below are secondary OpenSlate reports attributed to DraftKings, not verified executable sportsbook prices.
Stephen Curry points: 27.5
Reported DraftKings prices: over -114, under -112. Curry scored 34 points in Golden State’s last game, but one big scoring night does not settle a 27.5 line. The over needs a win rate of about 53.3% to break even at -114. Miami’s availability and the risk of a one-sided game both belong in the minutes assessment. This is a price to study, not an automatic over after a strong box score. Golden State’s last game
The simulation mean is 26.49 points, with 42.3% of draws over 27.5 and 57.7% under. The reported under price of -112 requires 52.8% to break even. That makes the under the direction to investigate in this model comparison, while the over falls below its 53.3% price threshold. The generated 10th–90th percentile range is 14–40 points, so the uncertainty is substantial.
Franz Wagner assists: 6.5
Reported DraftKings prices: over -130, under -102. Wagner’s role remains important with Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs out. He recorded six assists in Orlando’s last game, just below tonight’s line. At -130, the over needs more than a plausible path to seven assists: its break-even rate is 56.5%. Anthony Black’s expected return to the rotation is another reason to revisit Orlando’s ballhandling rather than copy its last lineup.
Wagner averages 6.92 assists in the simulation, but only 51.7% of generated outcomes exceed 6.5. That is below the over’s 56.5% break-even requirement. The under occurs in 48.3% of draws, also below its 50.5% threshold at -102. The mean being above the line does not make the over worth its price.
Wendell Carter Jr. rebounds: 8.5
Reported DraftKings prices: over -139, under +105. Carter collected nine rebounds in about 34 minutes Monday. Phoenix’s missing center matters for the matchup, but it does not guarantee who secures the available rebounds. The over’s 58.2% break-even rate is the highest of these three prices. A reasonable-looking line can still be too expensive. Orlando’s last game
Carter averages 9.06 rebounds, yet the over appears in 52.1% of draws, short of the 58.2% threshold at -139. The under appears in 47.9%, also below the 48.8% threshold at +105. Neither side clears its quoted break-even rate in this conditional comparison.
Three more research leads
- Giannis Antetokounmpo under 6.5 assists, reported -151. The model mean is 5.24 assists and the under occurs in 71.2% of generated outcomes, compared with a 60.2% break-even threshold. His Available designation removes the earlier missing-report issue, but the comparison remains conditional on his workload and role. Reported Giannis market
- Franz Wagner under 36.5 points + rebounds + assists, reported -106. The simulated combined-stat mean is 33.75; 63.6% of draws fall under, compared with a 51.5% break-even threshold. This is a same-player combined statistic, not a sum of unrelated player simulations. Orlando’s ballhandling and rotation still need a pre-tip check. Reported Wagner markets
- Tristan da Silva over 12.5 points, reported -104. The simulated mean is 14.03, with 55.7% of draws over, compared with a 51.0% break-even threshold. His generated 10th–90th percentile range spans 6–23 points. This smaller model-versus-price difference deserves particular caution about minutes and model error. Reported da Silva markets
These are research priorities, not validated betting edges. A large difference between a model fraction and a price threshold can reflect model error, outdated odds or an incorrect role assumption. The next step is to verify the exact book price, starting roles and any newer injury or minutes news.
