NBA Best Bets: DraftKings Player Props for October 21, 2026
Three NBA singles for October 21: Jalen Johnson PRA, Keyonte George points and Luka Doncic points, plus a separate Stephen Curry watch.

Morning card: Jalen Johnson 40+ points, rebounds and assists; Keyonte George 20+ points; Luka Dončić 33+ points. Stephen Curry is a separate watch, not a fourth released selection.
Last updated: October 21, 2026, 7:51 a.m. ET. The player-prop prices below were displayed on the DraftKings Network player-props page at that time. These are dated table observations, not confirmation that a sportsbook will accept a wager at those terms. The page does not provide a quote-update timestamp for each selection. Check the actual market in your location before acting.
Wednesday brings 11 games, with the first scheduled tipoffs at 7 p.m. ET and Sacramento at the Clippers closing the schedule at 10:30 p.m. Our approach is to identify a few understandable player roles without turning every game into a recommendation. A large slate offers more choices; it does not require a larger betting budget.
October 21, 11:50 a.m. ET: Pass at the latest displayed prices: Jalen Johnson 40+ PRA at -107/-111, Keyonte George 20+ points at -121, and Luka Dončić 33+ points at -110. Our minimum prices remain +106, -102 and -109, respectively. Earlier quotes below are dated references, not current offers. Curry remains watch only.
The three-singles card
| Selection | Observed DraftKings price | Our limit | Scheduled tipoff, ET |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jalen Johnson 40+ points + rebounds + assists | +106 | 40+ at +106 or better. Pass at 41+. | 7 p.m. |
| Keyonte George 20+ points | -102 | 20+ at -102 or better. Pass at 21+. | 8 p.m. |
| Luka Dončić 33+ points | -109 | 33+ at -109 or better. Pass at 34+. | 10 p.m. |
These are modest leans, not statistically established betting edges. All require the player to retain his expected role without a newly reported workload restriction. The limits are deliberately strict: a better basketball story does not make a worse price acceptable. “20+” means at least 20, not over 20.
1. Jalen Johnson 40+ points, rebounds and assists (+106)
Johnson averaged 22.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 7.9 assists in 2025-26: 40.7 combined. Those figures come from Atlanta’s official season notes.
The appeal is the variety of ways he can contribute. A points-only wager needs the scoring column to do all the work. The combined market allows a productive rebounding or playmaking night to compensate for some missed shots. That flexibility is valuable for an established all-around creator, particularly when the price is above even money.
There is also a useful continuity signal: Atlanta used last season’s starting group in its preseason finale, according to the NBA’s October 19 review. That is evidence about the rotation, not confirmation of Wednesday’s starters or a guarantee of any minute total.
The risk: 40.7 is an average, not a median or tonight’s projection. Assists depend on teammates making shots, and a slower game can reduce opportunities in all three categories. Atlanta’s other creators can also absorb possessions. We are not treating Johnson’s season average as proof that this wins more often than its price requires.
Decision: A small lean at 40+ and +106 or better. The break-even rate at +106 is 48.54%, not our estimated probability. Do not automatically replace this with a double-double, a triple-double or a higher PRA threshold: each is a different wager.
2. Keyonte George 20+ points (-102)
George scored 23.6 points per game last season. Utah now adds Darryn Peterson to an offense that also includes Lauri Markkanen and a returning Jaren Jackson Jr., as described in the NBA’s Jazz outlook.
That combination is why the number matters. We are backing an established scorer to reach 20, rather than requiring another immediate leap in his scoring average. The threshold gives us some room to acknowledge a more crowded offense without assuming George becomes a secondary spectator.
This is not a claim that last year’s usage carries over unchanged. Peterson can create his own offense, Jackson played only three games for Utah last season, and there will be possessions that previously belonged to George but now belong elsewhere. A healthier roster may help shot quality while reducing shot volume. Those effects do not necessarily cancel each other out.
The risk: A more pass-first assignment, fewer attempts or a reduced rotation role would weaken the bet. So would a game in which Utah’s frontcourt supplies most of the scoring. We are not using Memphis’ old roster or last season’s head-to-head results as if nothing changed.
Decision: 20+ at -102 or better, with a normal expected role. The quoted price requires a 50.50% hit rate to break even. The selection stops at 20; 21+ is not an automatic substitute.
3. Luka Dončić 33+ points (-109)
Dončić led the league at 33.5 points per game last season. The NBA’s season review confirms that baseline.
The current role supports considering another high scoring threshold. With LeBron James gone, Dončić is the Lakers’ clear offensive focal point, as covered in the NBA’s media-day report.
The Warriors’ absences are relevant, but we should use them carefully. Jimmy Butler, Moses Moody, Brandin Podziemski and Kristaps Porziņģis are out in the 7:15 a.m. ET official report. That creates uncertainty about Golden State’s available combinations. It does not guarantee easy possessions or a full fourth quarter for Dončić.
The risk: Austin Reaves and the rest of the offense can finish possessions that begin with Dončić. Golden State can send extra help, and a one-sided game could reduce late minutes. If Curry is subsequently ruled out, reassess the game rather than automatically upgrading this over on the assumption that every opponent absence helps it.
Decision: 33+ at -109 or better. The break-even rate is 52.15%. We prefer this specific threshold to paying substantially more for a lower alternate line or chasing a bigger payout at 35+.
Stephen Curry: Watch only at 25+ points (-106)
DraftKings Network listed Curry 25+ points at -106. The official morning report lists him as probable with right ankle soreness. Probable is not the same as a confirmed unrestricted workload.
The depleted Golden State rotation makes Curry’s offensive responsibility interesting, but extra responsibility is not valuable if the ankle limits his time or effectiveness. We need a satisfactory pregame availability and workload check before promoting this from a watch. The price would still need to be -106 or better at 25+, with no chasing 26+.
This is not part of the three-singles card. If it later qualifies, remember that it shares a game environment with the Dončić selection. Those two bets would not represent fully separate risks.
Game environments worth watching
Among the morning total rows we could verify, Minnesota-Miami was highest at 243.5. Milwaukee-Washington, Utah-Memphis and Indiana-New Orleans each displayed 239.5. Those are DraftKings Network observations from 7:47 a.m. ET, not additional bets or guarantees of scoring.
A high total can support researching offensive volume, but it also means the market has already priced in scoring. It is not, by itself, a reason to take an over. The selected player threshold and price still need their own case.
Some late-game spread rows disagreed between page one and page two. We are not treating those inconsistent displays as verified market movement or using them to release a side.
Why the rest are not automatic bets
Milwaukee-Washington: We are not betting Young’s reputation alone. NBA.com lists his prior-season scoring at 17.9 per game. The preseason review also reports 7-for-27 shooting and only 46 shared minutes with Anthony Davis. That sample is too small to condemn the pairing, but it does not justify assuming immediate offensive fluency.
Minnesota-Miami: The 243.5 total creates an appealing game environment for research, not an automatic over. Giannis Antetokounmpo and LaMelo Ball are making debuts for new teams. The NBA’s opening-week announcement confirms those changes. We want to see how possessions are distributed before paying for the most ambitious combinations.
Charlotte-Brooklyn: Kon Knueppel and Coby White are out, which changes the Hornets’ creation. It does not tell us exactly how many shots each remaining player gets. More opportunity can come with worse shot quality and greater defensive attention.
Chicago-Toronto and Dallas-Houston: Both home favorites were displayed at -9.5. That creates a real fourth-quarter risk for player overs on either side. We need more than a talent gap to justify laying a large spread.
Indiana-New Orleans: Aaron Nesmith and T.J. McConnell are out. Avoid copying last year’s guard workloads into a new rotation. Phoenix-Portland and Sacramento-Clippers: Deni Avdija and Malik Monk are questionable, respectively; Brandon Ingram is out for the Clippers. These are reasons to resolve roles before betting, not reasons to invent an absence or a minutes allocation. All listed statuses come from the official morning report.
Before placing a bet
- Recheck the player’s status, role and any workload restriction before his game, not just before the first game of the night.
- Match the actual threshold and American price to the card. A familiar player name is not enough.
- Treat these as singles, not a three-leg parlay. Do not enlarge the card just because more games are available.
- Keep exposure within a fixed entertainment budget. No selection is guaranteed, and a losing result is not a reason to chase.
