The New York Jets activated wide receiver Tim Patrick from injured reserve Saturday, October 10, adding him to the roster for Sunday’s game against Cleveland. The veteran missed the opening four weeks with a groin injury and was designated to return to practice earlier this week. New York waived receiver Jamaal Pritchett to make room.

That is a confirmed roster move, not a promise Patrick will start or handle a full complement of snaps. The Jets also expect tight end Mason Taylor back after two games out with a thumb injury. Taylor practiced fully during the week and has no Friday game designation, but his active status and on-field role are still worth checking Sunday.

How it changes the Jets

New York will be without wide receiver Adonai Mitchell (finger) and running back Breece Hall (quadriceps) against the Browns. Patrick brings another outside receiving option alongside Garrett Wilson and Isaiah Williams. Coach Aaron Glenn has not announced Patrick’s snap count or target role. Taylor’s anticipated return gives Geno Smith another intermediate receiving option and could reduce some of the extra tight-end opportunities created during his absence.

Week 5 DraftKings impact

On Sunday’s DraftKings Classic Main Slate, Patrick costs $3,000, Taylor $2,500, Kenyon Sadiq $3,800, Isaiah Williams $3,700 and Garrett Wilson $6,600. The salary list predates Patrick’s activation and Taylor’s likely return, so its injury tags should not be read as current availability news.

Patrick is a speculative salary-saving option only if pregame deployment indicates a meaningful receiving role. Taylor may be the more relevant cheap tight end if his usual work resumes; Sadiq’s recent replacement appeal becomes less secure with Taylor back. Wilson remains the established receiving focal point, but Patrick’s activation alone does not establish a target-share change for any player.

The next checkpoint is Sunday’s inactive list and the first offensive rotation. For the broader injury picture, see our Jets Week 5 availability report.
