College Football Best Bets | October 2, 2026
Our favorite college football bets for Friday, October 2, including Liberty-Delaware, Pitt-Virginia Tech and Penn State-Northwestern.

Friday gives us three FBS games, and we have four bets we want rather than forcing action into every market.
Liberty -6.5
Delaware’s quarterback situation is the reason to attack this number. Liberty has generated 945 yards over its last two games and is finding its footing offensively.
Pitt moneyline
Pitt enters 4-0 with a defense allowing 8.5 points per game. Lane Stadium is the first road test, but getting the unbeaten Panthers at plus money is enough for us to take the upset path.
Northwestern +3
Penn State is coming off a loss to Wisconsin, while Northwestern gets this game at the new Ryan Field and won this matchup last season. We want the full field goal.
Penn State-Northwestern Over 45.5
This is a modest total for a Penn State team that needs an offensive response and a Northwestern team that just scored 23 against Indiana.
Why Liberty is first
Liberty’s offense has improved in consecutive weeks, and Delaware’s ability to answer through the air is the concern. If Nick Minicucci remains unavailable, the drop at quarterback is significant enough to make Liberty our strongest spread position.
Pitt-Virginia Tech
This is the best game of the night. Virginia Tech is 4-0, averaging 43.3 points per game, and gets a sold-out Lane Stadium. Pitt is also 4-0 and has allowed only 34 total points. We are taking the price with Pitt.
Penn State-Northwestern
Northwestern +3 and the over can coexist. The Wildcats do not need to win for the side to cash, and a competitive game gives the 45.5 total room to clear.
