Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure

Understanding commercial relationships connected to CTS content.

Readers should be able to tell when a commercial relationship is connected to what they are reading.

Cover The Slate may earn revenue from advertising, sponsorships, referral arrangements or affiliate links. If a commercial relationship could reasonably affect how a reader interprets a recommendation or link, our goal is to disclose that relationship clearly and conspicuously.

Affiliate links

An affiliate link may allow CTS to receive compensation when a reader clicks, signs up, deposits, purchases or completes another qualifying action. The terms of an affiliate arrangement can vary by partner.

Where disclosures appear

This policy is a general explanation. When a specific article, recommendation or link has a material commercial connection, the relevant disclosure should appear close enough to that content for a reader to see it before acting on the recommendation. A link to this policy in the footer is not intended to replace a specific disclosure where one is needed.

Editorial independence

Compensation should not determine the substance of CTS analysis or turn a paid relationship into an undisclosed recommendation. Sponsored content should be identified as sponsored or advertising when applicable.

Sportsbook and DFS promotions

Promotions, bonuses, eligibility rules and offer terms can change. Readers should review the operator’s current terms before participating. Eligibility depends on location and other requirements. Cover The Slate does not guarantee the availability or value of a third-party promotion.
