Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Roman Wilson injured a finger during Sunday’s October 11 win over Indianapolis and was ruled out for the rest of that game. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Monday that Wilson is expected to miss a couple of weeks while seeking a second opinion. The Steelers have not issued a Week 6 game-status designation or confirmed an exact recovery timetable.

The timing compounds an already thin receiving corps. Ben Skowronek also left Sunday’s game with a calf injury and did not return, while Michael Pittman Jr. is on injured reserve because of a foot injury. The next checkpoints are the club’s injury updates, any receiver transactions and the first Week 6 practices before Pittsburgh visits Tampa Bay on Sunday, October 18 at 1 p.m. ET.

How Pittsburgh’s receiving rotation changes

DK Metcalf, Germie Bernard, Brandon Smith and Kaden Wetjen were the remaining available receivers after Wilson and Skowronek exited against the Colts. Pittsburgh’s late-game receiver shortage was documented after the game.

Metcalf remains the established receiving option. Bernard has the clearest immediate opportunity to sustain a larger role if Wilson is absent, with Smith and Wetjen candidates for more snaps depending on the team’s roster decisions. Skowronek’s availability could also change that distribution.

Week 6 DFS and betting consequences

Bernard is the first receiver candidate to reassess once the next DraftKings Classic player pool and injury report are available. Metcalf’s potential target concentration and tight end Pat Freiermuth’s involvement also deserve attention, but a thin depth chart does not guarantee extra targets for any one player. Jaylen Warren is another passing-game contributor worth monitoring if Pittsburgh leans more heavily on backs and tight ends.

Wilson’s Week 6 status, Skowronek’s recovery and any additions at receiver should come before lineup commitments or receiving-prop decisions. No current Week 6 salaries, target-share projections or prop prices are established here. See our earlier Pittman injury update for the first vacancy in this group.
