Week 3 has two games above or around 50 points and several large favorites. We want bets where the number and game script agree with what we see in the DFS usage data, while avoiding the temptation to force a play on every game.

Ravens-Cowboys Over 52.5

This is the slate’s premier scoring environment. Dallas has concentrated passing volume through Lamb and Pickens, while Baltimore can score through Lamar’s arm, Lamar’s legs or Henry. A competitive Dallas offense is the key because it keeps Baltimore aggressive.

Bills -7

Buffalo is 2-0 and at home against an 0-2 Chargers team dealing with offensive-line absences. The Bills also own one of the slate’s highest implied totals. We prefer -7 to laying the extra half-point if both are available.

Chiefs -10.5 at Dolphins

Kansas City owns a major talent and quarterback edge and Miami has opened the season poorly. The spread is large, so this is a bet on Kansas City controlling the game rather than needing a late score.

Lions -6.5 vs. Jets

Detroit’s offense is concentrated around Gibbs, Amon-Ra and its explosive passing pieces, and the indoor home environment removes weather concerns. We want the number below seven.

Texans-Colts Over 42.5

Houston has concentrated passing opportunity without Nico Collins, while Indianapolis can lean on Jonathan Taylor and its middle-of-field targets. The total is low enough that both teams can clear it without a true shootout.

Patriots +3 at Jaguars

The full field goal matters. Jacksonville has enough offensive volatility that we prefer taking the key number rather than playing New England at a worse spread.

Longshot construction

For a small-stake plus-money angle, we prefer correlating game environments rather than blindly parlaying every favorite. Ravens-Cowboys over paired with a Buffalo team-total over is the type of two-leg construction we prefer. Keep the main six bets separate.

Why these six and not a full-card spray

The Week 3 board has 14 Sunday games, but more games do not require more bets. We want numbers where our DFS research and the market tell a consistent story. BAL-DAL is about offensive concentration and pace of scoring. Buffalo is about home-field, quarterback advantage and the Chargers’ protection issues. Kansas City and Detroit are bets on superior offenses controlling games. Houston-Indianapolis is a lower-total game where concentrated usage can still create enough scoring.

Numbers that matter

Key numbers matter more than squeezing every bet into the card. Buffalo -7 is materially better than -7.5. Detroit -6.5 is more attractive than laying seven. New England +3 is a different bet from +2.5 because the full field goal protects a common margin. If those numbers disappear, the correct move is to pass or reassess rather than pretend the original thesis guarantees value at any price.

Best bet hierarchy

Favorite total: Ravens-Cowboys over 52.5. Favorite favorite: Buffalo -7. Favorite big favorite: Kansas City -10.5. Favorite key-number dog: New England +3. The Lions and Houston-Indianapolis over round out the card rather than carrying the same weight as the top four.

How we are betting it

We prefer straight bets for the main card. Parlays are for smaller stakes and should connect a game script rather than simply multiplying six opinions. A BAL-DAL over plus a Buffalo team-total over is coherent because both legs are bets on premium offensive environments. Combining every CTS pick into one lottery ticket is not the strategy.
