NFL DFS MNF DraftKings Showdown: Falcons vs. Saints Week 4 | Cover The Slate

Monday Night Football closes Week 4 with Atlanta visiting New Orleans, and this DraftKings Showdown slate deserves more thought than simply sorting the most expensive players. Atlanta has a direct path through Bijan Robinson against a depleted Saints front, while New Orleans has a cleaner path through Tyler Shough and the passing game than through its backfield.

CTS Showdown Board
Favorite GPP Captain: Chris Olave $16,200
Construction Captain: Tyler Shough $14,400
Best raw Captain: Bijan Robinson $17,700
Leverage Captain: Drake London $15,000
Core FLEX: Bijan $11,800, Olave $10,800
Mid-range: Juwan Johnson $7,400, Kyle Pitts $5,800
Value: Bryce Lance $1,800, Brian Robinson Jr. $3,800

Game Environment: Attack the Matchup

New Orleans is missing Carl Granderson, Anfernee Jennings and Kaden Elliss, with Pete Werner questionable. The Saints elevated EDGE Fadil Diggs and linebacker Jackson Sirmon for tonight, reinforcing how thin the front seven is. That strengthens Bijan’s already elite rushing and receiving path.

The more interesting side is New Orleans. Atlanta has been one of the league’s stingiest run defenses. The corrected CTS Fantasy Points Allowed board has Atlanta No. 1 toughest against RBs at 13.13 DraftKings points allowed per game, but only No. 24 vs QBs at 19.57, No. 28 vs WRs at 40.47 and No. 23 vs TEs at 17.20. That is why we prefer Shough-Olave-Juwan constructions over blindly forcing Alvin Kamara.

Captain Ownership Projections

These are CTS estimates, not reported DraftKings ownership. They reconcile projection, salary, role, matchup and likely Showdown construction. Captain totals are approximately 100%.

Player CPT CTS Own. Read
Bijan Robinson $17,700 24% Highest raw ceiling and obvious matchup beneficiary.
Chris Olave $16,200 19% Favorite skill-position leverage Captain given target concentration.
Tyler Shough $14,400 16% Captures a pass-heavy Saints game without guessing the TD receiver.
Drake London $15,000 11% True slate-breaking receiving ceiling.
Michael Penix Jr. $13,500 9% Viable, but Atlanta can win through Bijan without Penix becoming optimal.
Juwan Johnson $11,100 7% Target and red-zone ceiling creates a real non-star route.
Devaughn Vele $11,700 4% Secondary Saints pass-game leverage.
Alvin Kamara $10,500 3% Matchup and split-backfield concerns.
Kyle Pitts $8,700 2.5% Cheap enough to create a different stars-and-scrubs build.
Kendre Miller $7,500 1.5% Touchdown leverage on Kamara.
Field Varies 3% Kickers, DST and deep values.

Favorite Captains

Chris Olave $16,200

Olave is the Captain we want when New Orleans wins through the logical matchup. He has 36 targets through three games with double-digit targets in every game. Atlanta’s run defense encourages Shough to throw, and Olave is the cleanest bet to absorb the volume.

Tyler Shough $14,400

Shough has topped 22 DK points in all three games and New Orleans leads the league in pass attempts. He is especially attractive with two Saints pass catchers because a distributed touchdown game can make the quarterback the highest scorer.

Bijan Robinson $17,700

Bijan remains the best raw play. He leads the league with 66 carries and has caught 13 of 16 targets. He ranks third in our tournament Captain preference because of salary and popularity, not role.

Drake London $15,000

London’s nine-catch, 194-yard Week 3 showed the ceiling. If New Orleans sells out to slow Bijan or Atlanta trails, London has the concentrated role to beat both quarterbacks.

Core FLEX

Bijan $11,800: our strongest FLEX. Leaving him out requires a specific story where Atlanta scores efficiently without its best player accumulating enough rushing or receiving production.

Olave $10,800: the Saints passing-game centerpiece and natural Shough correlation.

Shough $9,600: quarterback floor plus the pass-heavy matchup makes him a strong FLEX.

Penix $9,000: useful in London Captain and balanced 3-3 builds, but Bijan lowers the necessity of forcing him into every Atlanta-heavy lineup.

Mid-Range and Leverage

Juwan Johnson $7,400: played 62% of snaps last week and drew eight targets, including two red-zone looks. Noah Fant is inactive with an abdomen injury. That removes a player who caught three touchdowns in the first three games and gives Johnson a cleaner route to tight-end targets and red-zone work in a matchup where Atlanta has allowed 17.20 DraftKings points per game to the position.

Devaughn Vele $7,800: gives us Saints passing exposure without duplicating the most common Shough-Olave builds.

Kyle Pitts $5,800: early production has been poor, but Atlanta looked dramatically healthier with Penix back. One target spike or touchdown can beat this salary.

Alvin Kamara $7,000: not a full fade, but Atlanta is No. 1 in CTS RB fantasy points allowed, Kamara’s recent receiving involvement has been limited and Kendre Miller remains involved.

Value FLEX

Bryce Lance $1,800: our favorite salary release. His target count is low, but he has played roughly 70% or more of Saints snaps each week. That is a credible route to opportunity for a sub-$2K player.

Brian Robinson Jr. $3,800: direct leverage on Bijan touchdown dominance. He does not need huge volume if Atlanta controls the game and he converts a scoring chance.

Austin Hooper $2,800: cheap Atlanta pass-game access. A touchdown immediately makes the salary work.

Kickers and DST

Nick Folk is $5,400 and the Saints kickers are $4,800. Falcons DST at $3,600 is more interesting than Saints DST $4,200 because Atlanta has generated pressure without needing to blitz heavily, while Shough has already shown turnover volatility. The Saints enter short-handed in the front seven, making their defense harder to prioritize.

Construction

Saints passing attack: Olave or Shough CPT + the other + Juwan/Vele + Bijan, then solve salary with Lance or another value.

Atlanta control: Bijan CPT + Penix/London + one Saints bring-back. Do not automatically jam four expensive Falcons.

Leverage shootout: London CPT + Penix + Shough + Olave/Juwan, then a cheap role player.

Contrarian Saints concentration: Juwan CPT + Shough + Olave + Bijan. Two Johnson touchdowns can beat the obvious star-Captain builds.

Final Inactive Impact

Noah Fant is OUT. Juwan Johnson $7,400 gets the clearest DFS bump. Atlanta’s inactive list does not remove a core offensive DFS piece, while New Orleans is without Fant plus Carl Granderson, Anfernee Jennings and Kaden Elliss. That strengthens our existing Bijan plus Saints passing-game thesis.

Final CTS Take

The slate starts with Bijan’s raw ceiling, but the best tournament decision is not necessarily to Captain him. New Orleans’ passing game attacks Atlanta where it has been most vulnerable, while Atlanta’s rushing matchup is enhanced by significant Saints defensive absences. Olave and Shough are our favorite tournament Captains, Bijan is the strongest FLEX anchor, and London is the Atlanta leverage Captain.
