Cowboys vs. Packers DraftKings Showdown Picks: NFL Week 6 Sunday Night Football
Early Cowboys–Packers DraftKings Showdown picks for October 18: Captain options, value plays, injury notes and two salary-checked tournament builds.

Dallas and Green Bay give us a Sunday night slate with enough receiving talent to support several different winning builds. The challenge is deciding which offense concentrates its production, then finding affordable players who will actually be involved. We want our salary relief to have a football role, rather than relying on a touchdown from someone who barely sees the field.
The Cowboys visit the Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday, October 18, 2026, with kickoff at 8:20 p.m. ET. This is our early Week 6 DraftKings Showdown breakdown, using the salaries for this specific game. Official game information
The game we are building around
Our starting point is a competitive game with both quarterbacks involved. FanDuel showed Green Bay favored by 1.5 with a 52.5 total on Friday morning. That supports passing-game combinations from both sides, but it does not require us to cram every expensive receiver into the same lineup. FanDuel Week 6 board
Sunday, October 18 final inactive check: CeeDee Lamb is not on Dallas’s complete inactive list. His availability does not guarantee his usual workload. Saturday, October 17 roster update: Green Bay activated Savion Williams from injured reserve and placed Skyy Moore on injured reserve. Savion Williams is not on Green Bay’s complete Sunday inactive list. His absence from that list does not establish an offensive role or normal workload. Green Bay’s backfield needs special attention. Josh Jacobs is on the commissioner’s exempt list, and Chris Brooks is on injured reserve. That creates opportunity, but MarShawn Lloyd is not inheriting an uncontested workload. Packers backfield update
Captain priorities
CeeDee Lamb: $16,200 Captain, $10,800 FLEX. Lamb is our preferred Dallas receiving Captain. His price is demanding, so the supporting lineup should emphasize real routes and touches instead of stacking several minimum-salary reserves. Pair him with Dak Prescott in most builds. If Lamb wins the slate through catches, yardage and multiple scores, Prescott usually benefits enough to deserve a place alongside him.
Christian Watson: $13,500 Captain, $9,000 FLEX. Watson gives us a less expensive route to a receiving ceiling. He entered Week 6 with 26 catches, 474 yards and six touchdowns, including two long scores against Chicago. Those explosive plays are exactly what can separate a Captain from the field, although the touchdown pace is no guarantee of another huge game. We prefer Jordan Love alongside him and at least one substantial Dallas piece coming back. Packers feature on Watson
Tucker Kraft: $10,200 Captain, $6,800 FLEX. Kraft is our salary-saving tournament Captain. He makes the most sense when Green Bay’s passing production goes through the middle rather than exclusively through Watson and Matthew Golden. That construction can fit both quarterbacks and Lamb without asking a $200 reserve to rescue it. Kraft’s blocking responsibilities are a real ceiling risk, so we would keep him behind the leading receivers in a small Captain pool.
Javonte Williams: $14,400 Captain, $9,600 FLEX. Williams is the alternative for a Dallas scoring distribution built around rushing touchdowns. Through five games, he had six rushing scores and one receiving score, alongside 74 carries and 17 catches. His efficiency has been more ordinary than his touchdown total, which is why we want a specific multi-score script rather than treating him as an automatic Captain. Cowboys season statistics
Prescott at $15,600 Captain and Love at $14,100 are also viable. We prefer quarterback Captain builds with two pass catchers when possible. The exception is a lineup banking on a quarterback rushing score or unusually spread-out receiving production.
FLEX core and the meaningful pivots
Love costs $9,400 in FLEX, $1,000 less than Prescott. That discount matters when we are pairing him with a Packers receiver and bringing Lamb back. Prescott remains attractive when we expect Dallas to keep throwing throughout a close game. We do not need to choose only one quarterback in every lineup.
Golden at $8,000 is a strong alternative to Watson, rather than a bargain-bin third receiver. The Packers reported 24 catches, 397 yards and two touchdowns through five games. We like Golden most in Love stacks that either omit Watson or use both receivers and make their savings elsewhere. Packers receiving production
George Pickens at $8,800 belongs in the tournament pool, but we would avoid chasing his latest box score without considering Lamb’s health. FantasyPros’ Week 6 analysis flags Green Bay’s two-high coverage as a less comfortable setup for Pickens, while treating Jake Ferguson as touchdown-dependent. Ferguson’s $5,600 salary is usable, but we would not call him a safe volume play. FantasyPros Week 6 Primer
Lloyd at $7,400 can win with goal-line work, but the price leaves little room for an ordinary committee game. Rich Hribar’s Week 6 breakdown reports 44.1% of the previous game’s snaps for Lloyd and 40.7% for Pierre Strong Jr. Strong ran 15 routes and caught three passes. That makes Strong’s $3,000 salary materially different from paying for an unused backup. It also gives us a reason to build lineups that fade Lloyd without fading Green Bay’s offense. Value options we can explain
- Pierre Strong Jr., $3,000: Our most useful early salary-relief option. A continued passing-down role fits Love stacks and games in which the Packers need to sustain drives through the air. The committee can change, so his recent usage is evidence, not a locked-in projection.
- Ryan Flournoy, $4,400: A reasonable third Dallas receiving piece. He is listed with the starting receivers, giving him a clearer route to involvement than the cheapest reserves. Lamb being cleared for Sunday limits how aggressively we should project Flournoy’s targets.
- Brandon Aubrey, $5,200, and Trey Smack, $4,800: Kicker options for builds that expect drives but not a touchdown on every possession. Smack is the kicker listed atop Green Bay’s current depth chart. Lenny Krieg’s presence in the salary file does not make him an interchangeable selection.
- Bo Melton, $2,800: With Moore ruled out, Melton remains a conditional tournament option only if his offensive role expands. Do not assume an injury absence creates a full-time receiving job.
- Jonnu Smith, $1,600, and KaVontae Turpin, $2,000: Thin tournament punts. Smith needs receiving work from a secondary tight-end role; Turpin needs a designed touch, a splash play or a return score. Neither belongs in a lineup simply because the final salary fits.
The role distinctions come from the teams’ current Packers depth chart and Cowboys depth chart.
Early projected ownership
Early, low-confidence CTS estimates, October 16 at 10:03 a.m. ET. The table covers 26 listed players; other salary-listed players are not forecast here. This scenario assumes Lamb plays without a restriction and Skyy Moore sits. Moore has now been ruled out; these early estimates have not been recalculated.

Percentages are rounded.
Lamb and Watson lead the receiving Captain interest, while Kraft’s 3.0% Captain share gives our cheaper build a distinct route. Strong’s 31.0% FLEX estimate is a reminder that useful salary relief can attract plenty of attention. His value comes from the passing-game role, not an assumption that using him makes the lineup unusual. Moore’s absence does not establish Melton’s role or that of the other secondary receivers; check their expected offensive work before keeping the same combinations.
Two example tournament builds
These illustrate different scoring stories. They are examples of lineup construction, not final-lock recommendations, and every player still needs to be active.
Passing production through Kraft: $49,000 total
| Slot | Player | Salary | DraftKings ID |
|---|---|---|---|
| CPT | Tucker Kraft | $10,200 | 44531559 |
| FLEX | Jordan Love | $9,400 | 44531498 |
| FLEX | Dak Prescott | $10,400 | 44531496 |
| FLEX | CeeDee Lamb | $10,800 | 44531495 |
| FLEX | Pierre Strong Jr. | $3,000 | 44531517 |
| FLEX | Brandon Aubrey | $5,200 | 44531510 |
This lineup wants Kraft to capture Green Bay’s receiving touchdowns, while Strong supplies affordable catches. Dallas can keep pace through Prescott and Lamb even if one or two possessions end with Aubrey kicks. The clear risk is Watson or Golden dominating the Packers’ scoring.
Dallas rushing scores, Green Bay passing response: $50,000 total
| Slot | Player | Salary | DraftKings ID |
|---|---|---|---|
| CPT | Javonte Williams | $14,400 | 44531552 |
| FLEX | Jordan Love | $9,400 | 44531498 |
| FLEX | Matthew Golden | $8,000 | 44531502 |
| FLEX | CeeDee Lamb | $10,800 | 44531495 |
| FLEX | Ryan Flournoy | $4,400 | 44531513 |
| FLEX | Pierre Strong Jr. | $3,000 | 44531517 |
Here Williams finishes Dallas drives, which is why Prescott can be omitted. Love and Golden cover the opposing passing response. Lamb can produce a strong reception-and-yardage game without taking all of Williams’ touchdown opportunities. Flournoy and Strong still need enough work to keep the lineup competitive.
Our early approach
Start with Lamb and Watson as receiving Captains, then use Kraft or Williams when the rest of the lineup supports that outcome. Strong is the first cheap player we want to investigate. We would rather leave salary unused than force a reserve with no credible path to touches, and we would rather vary the scoring story than call every cheaper player contrarian.
