CTS Commanders vs. 49ers Best Bets: Week 6 Monday Night Football featured image

San Francisco enters Monday night with the stronger overall position, but a favorite laying more than a touchdown still needs a careful price check. Washington has a quarterback who can change a game with his legs, and injuries could reshape both receiving groups before kickoff. Our early approach is to back the 49ers selectively, lean toward a lower-scoring game and target George Kittle at plus money.

The Commanders visit the 49ers at Levi’s Stadium on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 8:15 p.m. ET. Official Week 6 game preview

Early odds and our price limits

Prices below were checked October 16 at approximately 9:31 a.m. ET. These are early positions and conditional recommendations, with final availability still important. Our limits are editorial cutoffs, not additional sportsbook quotes.

Bet Book Observed price Our limit
49ers -7.5 FanDuel -108 -7.5, no worse than -110
Under 51.5 points FanDuel -115 51 or higher, no worse than -115
George Kittle anytime touchdown BetMGM +115 +110 or better

Game lines are from FanDuel’s Week 6 board. Kittle’s price is from BetMGM’s game board.

We would not stake these as three independent opinions. A controlled San Francisco win can help all three, while an unusually efficient Washington offense can damage the side and total together.

49ers -7.5 (-108)

Our side is San Francisco, with a firm stop before -8. The appeal is a more reliable offense paired with a defense that can make Washington work for sustained drives. San Francisco can win through Brock Purdy’s passing game without needing every possession to end in a Christian McCaffrey rushing score.

Sports Illustrated’s Iain MacMillan also backs the 49ers at -7.5, pointing to their strong efficiency profile on both sides of the ball. We agree with the direction while giving the receiving injuries meaningful weight. Sports Illustrated’s Week 6 analysis

The half-point above seven is the obvious danger. Washington can lose most of the game and still cover with a late touchdown. Jayden Daniels’ rushing ability gives the underdog another way to avoid stalled possessions, even when the passing matchup is difficult.

Before adding this position, we want a clearer picture of Mike Evans’ availability. A restricted receiving group does not automatically make San Francisco a poor bet, but a fresh downgrade is a reason to reassess the existing number rather than betting through it. We would also avoid converting this opinion into an expensive moneyline parlay merely to remove the spread.

Under 51.5 (-115)

Our preferred total is under 51.5, and the number matters. We are not treating under 50.5 at a different book as the same bet.

The case is that Washington needs more sustained offensive production than its latest final score alone suggests. Daniels can create explosive rushing plays, but those are harder to count on than a passing game repeatedly moving the chains. If San Francisco builds a lead, longer possessions and a more conservative finish can also help the under.

Covers’ Jason Logan leaned under an earlier 50.5 while noting the difficult Washington matchup and San Francisco’s receiving injuries. We prefer the additional point now available at FanDuel, but the uncertainty still cuts both ways. Covers’ early Monday analysis

A short field is the biggest threat to the script. Turnovers and return mistakes can produce points without either offense sustaining a drive. A quick San Francisco touchdown can also force Washington into a faster game. We would keep the wager modest and pass if the available number falls below 51 at the listed price.

George Kittle anytime touchdown (+115)

Saturday, October 17, 1:12 p.m. ET board check: BetMGM’s event board displayed Kittle anytime touchdown at 2.049 decimal odds, approximately +105. That is below our +110 minimum, so pass at that displayed BetMGM price. DraftKings Network displayed +110, but that public-board observation still requires an actual local offer and the final availability check. The Friday +115 reference and our minimum remain unchanged.

Kittle is our favorite touchdown single on the early board. San Francisco’s official statistics list four receiving touchdowns through five games. He offers a direct route into Purdy’s scoring production without paying McCaffrey’s much shorter anytime price. 49ers season statistics

Monday, October 19 roster update: San Francisco downgraded Christian Kirk (calf) to out. Deebo Samuel remains out (hamstring), while Mike Evans (ribs/Achilles) remains questionable. A thinner receiving group can concentrate important targets, although we should not assume every vacated opportunity goes to Kittle. McCaffrey remains a major competitor near the goal line, and San Francisco can use Kittle to block on a successful scoring play. Final active status and workloads still need checking. 49ers final game-status report

We would play +115 and stop below +110. The touchdown bet can fit an under because one Kittle score does not require an offensive shootout. Still, it shares the card’s dependence on San Francisco executing well, so keep that concentration in mind.

First-touchdown longshot: Kittle, conditional

For a small first-touchdown play, Kittle is also our preferred watchlist option. BetMGM’s October 14 preview published +775. That is an earlier book-published price, not a confirmed current betslip quote. We would consider this only if +775 or better remains available in the first-touchdown market. BetMGM’s published first-touchdown board

This is a much narrower bet than anytime touchdown. Kittle can score twice and still lose it if McCaffrey or a Washington player gets into the end zone first. It should be a tiny alternative to part of the anytime stake, not an excuse to double our exposure to the same player.

Conditional same-game parlay

49ers moneyline plus Kittle anytime touchdown is the combination we would examine if the final receiver news supports the passing-game outlook. It links a San Francisco win with the player we already prefer in the touchdown market.

There is no quoted combined payout attached to this early idea. The actual sportsbook price has to be evaluated before it becomes a bet, especially because a heavily favored moneyline may add less return than expected. We would keep the anytime single if the parlay price is unappealing and avoid adding the under as a third condition just to chase a larger payout.

What can change before Monday

Monday, October 19 roster update: Washington activated Jeremy McNichols from injured reserve and removed his questionable designation. Jacory Croskey-Merritt has been placed on injured reserve and remains out. Stefon Diggs (hamstring) remains questionable. Confirm McNichols on the game-day active list and reassess the White/Ekeler/McNichols workload split before betting. Terry McLaurin, Treylon Burks, White and Ekeler have no game designation. Final active status and workloads still need checking. Commanders final game-status report

Our early card is San Francisco -7.5, under 51.5 and Kittle anytime at the listed prices. We would rather retain those limits and pass a moved market than turn a reasonable early opinion into a bad late bet.

Bet only where legal and within a set budget. First-touchdown bets and parlays deserve much smaller stakes than ordinary singles.
