Cover The Slate NFL Week 2 DraftKings ownership and leverage graphic for September 20, 2026. Add verified player names only when they match the image.

Our NFL Week 2 ownership projections for the September 20 DraftKings main slate put Bijan Robinson, Mark Andrews and Aaron Jones among the most popular offensive plays. We are willing to roster the right chalk. The opportunity is to choose where a different scoring outcome is worth the risk, not to assemble the least popular nine names.

The charts cover 263 modeled players and defenses across all five positions in the 13-game, 1:00 PM ET main slate. Running-back, wide-receiver and tight-end percentages include FLEX. This is a large-field Classic research baseline, not a separate calibrated forecast for each contest or buy-in.

Our ownership decisions

A projection of popularity is not a projection of success.
Player CTS projection Our decision
Bijan Robinson, $8,200 35.7% Chalk we will play: receiving involvement supports the expensive role.
Aaron Jones, $5,100 29.1% Chalk we will play: real backfield expansion at $5,100.
Dalton Schultz, $3,200 25.7% Salary value we will play: existing targets plus a changed Houston distribution.
Rashod Bateman, $4,400 24.4% Chalk we will trim: one opening target despite extensive playing time.
Mike Evans, $6,600 6.3% Receiver alternative: San Francisco passing touchdowns rather than only McCaffrey exposure.
Saquon Barkley, $7,000 9.2% Premium RB alternative: a different rushing/TD outcome.
Buccaneers, $3,600 24.3% DST concentration we will resist making mandatory.

The main-slate DFS breakdown contains the full football reasoning, stack costs and two complete salary-checked examples.

Availability assumptions that affect the board

Flowers and Collins are out; Mason is on IR. The baseline assumes Bowers does not play, while retaining his official doubtful designation. It is not an announcement that he has been ruled out. The team reports from Baltimore, Houston, Minnesota and Las Vegas establish those distinctions.

Q marks a questionable player in the salary file and these estimates assume that player is available: Olave, Burrow, McConkey, Harvey, Black and Jalen McMillan. Their final status can change both their own ownership and their teammates’ roles. Unmarked players are not being certified as game-day active before inactives are released.

Henderson’s expected return and Kamara’s season debut are part of our baseline. We are not treating Stevenson or Etienne’s opening workload as an unchanged full-strength allocation.

Preferred combination: Dak at 15.8% with Pickens, then a Washington return when it fits. Lamar’s 17.9% does not make his rushing ceiling a bad choice. Daniels at 9.6% changes how we capture Washington-Dallas; Purdy at 7.8% is our first alternative game-stack investigation.

Where we would not force a fade: a cheap quarterback is not automatically a value if we do not want his receivers or his offense. Chicago weather also prevents us from treating Caleb or Wentz as easy low-owned answers. Burrow’s row is conditional on playing.

Chalk to eat: Bijan and Jones. The former has an established receiving component; the latter has a genuine opportunity change. We can keep them and differentiate elsewhere. CMC also remains viable without assuming he owns every San Francisco carry.

Alternatives: Saquon at 9.2%, Montgomery at 10.4% and Jeanty at 12.5% give us different scoring or receiving outcomes. Lloyd at 2.3% is the thinner salary-range pivot from Jones: he is $200 more expensive, and the backfield is not his alone.

Chalk to trim in selected builds: Javonte when we are deliberately betting on Dallas passing scores. That is a lineup decision, not a claim a back and his receivers cannot all produce. Stevenson and Etienne also need to be assessed with returning teammates, not only last week’s touches.

Chalk to eat: Lamb in a Dallas-centered lineup, and Golden when his salary bridges the roster sensibly. Pickens at 16.0% is a useful rebound construction, not a secret. Hutchinson is our preferred inexpensive Houston WR on existing target evidence.

Chalk to trim: Bateman at 24.4%. He played extensively in the opener, so the upside requires better target earning rather than merely being promoted onto the field. Andrews, Wester and other receivers still matter. Houston’s three cheaper WRs should likewise not each be credited with the entire Collins workload.

Leverage we can explain: Evans at 6.3% has a credible touchdown path with Purdy. McLaurin at 6.7% is a different Washington receiving outcome but carries a target-competition concern. Wester at 2.0% is a volatile participation bet, not a core-value guarantee.

Our first salary choice: Schultz at 25.7%. Mayer and Andrews are still playable. Mayer’s opener already came without Bowers, so a continued absence supports that role rather than doubling it. Andrews is especially useful in Lamar stacks.

Paying differently: McBride at 8.3% requires a real offensive sacrifice elsewhere. Goedert at 5.1% is a smaller step up from the cheap tier. Loveland at 1.8% offers a route-driven rebound case, but costs $1,800 more than Schultz and carries the Chicago weather concern.

Double TE: playable, not automatically contrarian. Our reconciled baseline assigns about 27% of FLEX selections to tight ends. That is a model assumption expressed through the rosters, not a measured fact about Sunday’s entrants.

Our preference: do not let Tampa Bay’s 24.3% projection force the lineup. Philadelphia and San Francisco are the higher-cost alternatives we like. Jacksonville at 1.5% is a salary-saving route when the offensive upgrade is worth the concession.

Defensive touchdowns create outsized fantasy swings, which is a reason to resist overconfidence at the position, not a reason to choose the cheapest defense automatically. Avoid casually pairing a DST with multiple opposing offensive players unless the unusual construction has a specific purpose.

Position and FLEX totals

Nine-player rosters produce 900% combined player ownership.
Position Projected selections
QB 100.0%
RB 240.2%
WR 332.7%
TE 127.1%
DST 100.0%
Total 900.0%

After the required two RBs, three WRs and one TE, the modeled FLEX mix is approximately 40.2% RB, 32.7% WR and 27.1% TE. These are proportions of FLEX slots, not additional ownership to add to the tables. Position totals already include them. Tenth-point rounding is reconciled so QB and DST each equal 100.0% and the entire board equals 900.0%.

Leverage decisions that preserve a ceiling

1. Keep Jones or Schultz, change the passing stack

There is no need to remove every well-priced role to make a tournament lineup different. Dak-Pickens-Diggs gives us a coherent game outcome. Purdy-Evans changes the offense. Both allow popular values to remain without making popularity the only reason we selected them.

2. Treat Evans as a different San Francisco scoring outcome

McCaffrey is 25.1% on our board; Evans is 6.3%. The difference does not establish a mathematical edge by itself. Our case is that a multi-touchdown receiving outcome can reward an Evans-centered build when many opponents use their San Francisco salary at RB. Both can score well, so this is not a guaranteed one-for-one hedge.

3. Make the Bateman decision about targets, not the depth-chart label

The Ravens’ Week 1 table records one target for Bateman despite 53 offensive snaps. Andrews had six targets; Wester had two with much less field time. We prefer to distinguish Bateman gaining targets per snap from Wester potentially gaining snaps. Baltimore’s Flowers update names several remaining receivers, not a one-man replacement.

4. Be selective about expensive rebound bets

Pickens’ drops and intact role support his case. Loveland’s 33 routes reported in the Vikings preview support a different rebound hypothesis. Neither player is owed points. Loveland especially has to overcome a higher price than the chalk tight ends and a less appealing weather setup.

5. Do not count nine independent ownership numbers as a lineup

Jones-Schultz-Bateman can recur together because the savings buy the same expensive players. Multiplying their individual percentages does not measure duplication. We care about the quarterback partners, salary combinations and FLEX choices around them. The sampler helps make those relationships coherent, but we have not validated its joint-ownership predictions against actual contests.

What changes if the questionable players do not play?

McConkey inactive: reassess Johnston, Tre’ Harris, Njoku and Gadsden together, not just one presumed replacement. The baseline below does not assign a full inactive-case target transfer. Mayer’s situation is separate: if Bowers plays, we reduce the appeal of the Bowers-out role rather than claiming nothing changed.

Olave inactive: Vele and the other Saints receivers have a different opportunity set, but the offense can also become less efficient. Kamara’s return means that more passing work cannot be allocated only to the wide receivers and tight ends.

Harvey or Black inactive: reconsider the Denver or San Francisco rushing split. Do not award every vacated touch to the most familiar back. Burrow inactive: rebuild the Cincinnati passing projection rather than leaving a quarterback-dependent stack unchanged.

These are directional branches, not fabricated alternative percentages. The main chart has one stated availability baseline. Our DFS breakdown contains afternoon salary-valid swap examples.

The CTS ownership stance

We will play Jones, Bijan and Schultz when they fit. We prefer Andrews with a coherent Baltimore passing construction. We are more willing to trim Bateman, an overloaded Houston value cluster or the most popular DST than to fade every strong workload.

Our first alternatives are Evans for receiving touchdowns, Saquon for a different premium rushing outcome, and selective Wester or Loveland exposure when the rest of the lineup supports the risk. We do not need nine contrarian selections. We need a credible way for the lineup to score differently from the field.

Use the NFL DFS Week 2 picks and stack guide, NFL usage leaders, team workload pages and Today’s Slate to connect the percentages with actual decisions.
