College Football Best Bets Tonight: 4 Picks for Friday, Sept. 11

Friday, September 11, 2026. Three ranked teams are in action tonight, and we found four bets we like across Norfolk State-Virginia, Villanova-Louisville and Missouri-Kansas. The card is a mix of two big spreads, one game total and our favorite player-prop angle of the night.

Lines were checked around 10:30 a.m. ET. If your book is showing a meaningfully different number, treat it as a new decision rather than blindly following the pick.

Virginia -45.5 (-105)

Norfolk State at Virginia · 7 p.m. ET

Forty-five and a half is uncomfortable by design, but this is one of the rare spots where we are willing to lay it. Virginia already showed it can overwhelm a respectable opponent on the ground, piling up 258 rushing yards against NC State while Beau Pribula added 110 himself. Norfolk State just gave up 31 to Old Dominion.

The handicap is simple: Virginia should own the line of scrimmage, create short fields and keep scoring without needing to throw aggressively for four quarters. The obvious risk is garbage time once the starters come out, but we still make the Cavaliers the better side at this number.

CTS play: Virginia -45.5. We would still play it at -46.

Villanova +36.5 (-110)

Villanova at Louisville · 7 p.m. ET

This is less about doubting Louisville and more about the number. The Cardinals are coming off a draining 41-38 loss to Ole Miss on Sunday, which gives them only five days to reset before laying more than five touchdowns.

Louisville can absolutely control this game and still fail to cover. Once the margin gets comfortable, the incentive shifts toward shortening the night, protecting starters and getting to next week healthy. We want the cushion with Villanova rather than needing Louisville to stay aggressive for 60 minutes.

CTS play: Villanova +36.5. We still like +36; below that we would reassess.

Missouri-Kansas Over 51.5 (-105)

Missouri at Kansas · 8 p.m. ET

The Border War is where we want offense. Missouri quarterback Austin Simmons was nearly flawless in the opener, completing 17 of 19 passes for 252 yards and four touchdowns. Kansas answered with 613 total yards in its opener, including 336 through the air and 277 on the ground.

Those Week 1 opponents were soft, so we are not simply projecting another pair of 50-point performances. What matters is that both offenses showed multiple ways to create explosive plays, and neither side needs the other to completely cooperate for this total to get there. A competitive fourth quarter is exactly what we want.

CTS play: Over 51.5. Playable to 52.

Jamal Roberts Over 18.5 rushing attempts (-120)

Missouri at Kansas · 8 p.m. ET

This is our favorite player-prop angle on the slate. Ahmad Hardy remains unavailable, leaving Roberts positioned as Missouri’s lead back in the first game where the Tigers should need their primary offense for four quarters. Roberts had only 13 carries in the opener, but Missouri won 54-14 and had no reason to lean on him late.

Tonight should be different. Missouri is favored, but not by enough to expect an early shutdown, and a competitive road game is exactly the script that can push a lead back into the 20-carry range. We would rather bet the workload than ask Roberts to hit a rushing-yardage number on efficiency alone.
