College Football Best Bets: Saturday Week 3 Picks for 9/19/26

Saturday’s board is big enough that we do not need to force action. We narrowed it to eight bets, with confidence reflecting how strongly we like the current number rather than how likely the favorite is to win outright.

1. Alabama -19.5 vs. Florida State

Confidence: 9/10

Alabama’s defense held Kentucky to 209 yards and the offense scored 32 unanswered after halftime. Florida State just lost at home to SMU and now goes into Tuscaloosa. The matchup in the trenches is the biggest reason this is our top game-line bet.

2. Georgia -24.5 at Arkansas

Confidence: 8.5/10

Georgia has scored 63 or more in both games and is averaging more than 570 yards. Arkansas was beaten 43-10 by Utah and now gets an offense that can create explosives without abandoning the run. We are comfortable laying four scores.

3. Auburn +2.5 vs. Florida

Confidence: 8/10

Florida’s 2-0 start has come entirely at home. Auburn already played a one-score game against Baylor and now gets Florida in Jordan-Hare. We prefer the home dog in Florida’s first road test.

4. Ole Miss +3 vs. LSU

Confidence: 8/10

LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt has been removed from the availability report, but Ole Miss getting a full field goal at home still interests us. The Rebels have enough offense to answer LSU, and this is the type of matchup where three points can matter late.

5. Penn State -34.5 vs. Buffalo

Confidence: 7.5/10

Penn State has a major rushing advantage against a Buffalo defense that has allowed 4.8 yards per carry. The concern is always how long the starters play in a blowout, but Penn State’s depth can continue creating separation after the game is decided.

6. USC -10.5 at Rutgers

Confidence: 7.5/10

Rutgers has allowed 30-plus points in both games and now gets a USC offense averaging 39.5. The Trojans also have an increasingly concentrated passing game with Trent Mosley out, and we expect USC’s offensive ceiling to be too much over four quarters.

7. LSU-Ole Miss Over 56.5

Confidence: 7/10

Leavitt’s improved status matters for the total. Ole Miss has the weapons to score at home, and LSU brings enough quarterback rushing and explosive passing ability to keep this from becoming a one-sided script. We prefer the over to laying points with LSU.

8. BYU -17.5 at Colorado State

Confidence: 7/10

Colorado State’s run defense is the concern against a BYU offense built around LJ Martin and Bear Bachmeier. BYU should be able to stay ahead of the chains and control the game without asking the passing attack to carry the offense.
