SNF DraftKings Showdown: Lions vs. Panthers Week 4 DFS Picks & Strategy
DraftKings SNF Showdown picks for Lions vs. Panthers in Week 4, including Captain rankings, core FLEX plays, GPP options, value plays and lineup construction.

Detroit and Carolina close Week 4 on Sunday Night Football, and the DraftKings Showdown slate is built around an expensive Lions core, a concentrated Carolina passing game and several viable salary-saving paths. Every salary below comes from the supplied DKSalaries (38).csv.
CTS Showdown Core
Favorite Captain: Amon-Ra St. Brown $16,500
Best raw Captain: Jahmyr Gibbs $18,000
GPP Captain: Tetairoa McMillan $13,500
Core FLEX: Gibbs $12,000, St. Brown $11,000
Favorite mid-range FLEX: Jameson Williams $7,000
Favorite value FLEX: John Metchie III $3,200
Game Setup
Detroit enters as the offense we want to build around, but Showdown is not simply a question of jamming every Lion. Gibbs, St. Brown, Jared Goff and Sam LaPorta are all expensive enough that the winning lineup will usually need either a Carolina scorer or a cheap player who does enough to unlock the stars.
Carolina’s most attractive tournament path is concentrated receiving production through Tetairoa McMillan, with Bryce Young benefiting if the Panthers are forced to chase. Jalen Coker is marked QUESTIONABLE in the supplied DraftKings file, so he remains conditional until authoritative game-day status confirms him.
Captain Rankings
1. Amon-Ra St. Brown $16,500 CPT
St. Brown is our favorite Captain because his reception volume fits DraftKings scoring perfectly and his Captain salary is $1,500 cheaper than Gibbs. If Detroit scores through the air, he can post the highest raw score while still allowing another premium FLEX.
2. Jahmyr Gibbs $18,000 CPT
Gibbs owns the strongest multi-path ceiling through rushing, receiving and goal-line work. He is the best raw Captain, but the $18,000 multiplier salary makes the rest of the lineup materially harder to build.
3. Tetairoa McMillan $13,500 CPT
McMillan is our favorite GPP Captain. A Carolina chase script can funnel targets toward him, and his lower Captain salary creates builds with Gibbs and St. Brown together in FLEX.
4. Jameson Williams $10,500 CPT
Williams is the volatility Captain. He needs fewer touches than the possession receivers because one or two explosive plays can create a tournament-winning score.
5. Jared Goff $15,000 CPT
Goff becomes optimal at Captain when Detroit’s touchdowns are spread among multiple pass catchers rather than concentrated through Gibbs or St. Brown. His lack of rushing makes him less attractive than the skill players when one teammate dominates.
Core FLEX
Jahmyr Gibbs $12,000
Gibbs is the player we are least interested in excluding from strong builds. Even when he does not lead the slate in rushing, his receiving role and touchdown equity keep the ceiling intact.
Amon-Ra St. Brown $11,000
St. Brown is the cleanest Detroit receiving exposure and works with every game script except a complete rushing takeover. Pairing Gibbs and St. Brown is expensive but captures a large share of Detroit’s offensive ceiling.
Jared Goff $10,000
Goff is strongest in builds using two Detroit pass catchers. If St. Brown, Williams or LaPorta score the touchdowns, Goff naturally comes along for the ride.
Carolina FLEX
Bryce Young $9,800
Young is expensive relative to his median outcome, but quarterbacks retain value in Showdown because all Carolina passing touchdowns flow through him. He becomes more attractive in Detroit-led scripts where Carolina is forced into volume.
Chuba Hubbard $9,400
Hubbard offers the cleaner Carolina rushing path and can score without requiring the Panthers to throw efficiently. The concern is that a negative script can push touches away from the ground game.
Tetairoa McMillan $9,000
McMillan is our preferred Carolina skill-position FLEX. He has the clearest path to concentrated targets and can benefit directly if Detroit forces Carolina to throw throughout the second half.
Jalen Coker $7,400
Coker is QUESTIONABLE in the supplied salary file. If officially active without a meaningful limitation, the salary is usable for a secondary Carolina receiver, but we will not treat him as cleared before confirmation.
Detroit Tournament Pieces
Jameson Williams $7,000
Williams is our favorite mid-range GPP FLEX because his downfield role gives him a ceiling far above his touch count. He also creates direct leverage on more expensive St. Brown-heavy constructions.
Sam LaPorta $6,600
LaPorta offers touchdown leverage on St. Brown and Gibbs. Tight-end volume can be volatile, but one red-zone score plus normal receiving work can make $6,600 a strong Showdown result.
Isaac TeSlaa $4,200
TeSlaa is the cheaper Detroit receiver with a plausible route to meaningful snaps and a touchdown. He is much more attractive than blindly punting to the $200-$1,000 range.
Value FLEX
John Metchie III $3,200
Metchie is our favorite Carolina salary saver. His price allows two or three premium Lions, and he has a more credible receiving role than the extreme punts.
Tommy Tremble $2,400
Tremble provides cheap tight-end access to Carolina’s passing game. A few catches or one touchdown is enough to make the salary useful.
Brock Wright $1,600
Wright is our preferred Detroit punt if we need to go below $2,000. His role gives him at least a plausible touchdown path in an offense expected to create red-zone opportunities.
David Moore $1,200
Moore is a large-field salary punt only. The appeal is that a small receiving line can be enough at $1,200 if it enables a lineup containing Gibbs, St. Brown and another premium piece.
Kickers and DST
Jake Bates $5,000 is the preferred kicker because Detroit should generate scoring opportunities even when drives stall. Ryan Fitzgerald $4,800 fits Carolina-competitive builds. Lions DST $4,000 has the better sack/turnover ceiling, while Panthers DST $3,600 is a pure leverage play against Detroit-heavy lineups.
Favorite Constructions
Detroit control: St. Brown CPT + Gibbs + Goff + one Carolina pass catcher + two values.
Carolina chase: McMillan CPT + Young + Gibbs/St. Brown + one Detroit secondary receiver + values.
Detroit explosion: Williams CPT + Goff + Gibbs + St. Brown, then use two cheap Carolina pieces. This is expensive and volatile but creates a very different Captain outcome from the field.
