NFL Week 4 DraftKings Ownership Projections: Chalk vs. Leverage | Cover The Slate

Ownership is one of the most useful tools in NFL GPPs, but only when the underlying slate is right. This board is for the exact 12-game DraftKings Classic main slate beginning at 1 p.m. ET. Salaries and availability come from our supplied DraftKings file, and players marked OUT are excluded.

Sunday-morning baseline: we are reconciling current same-slate models rather than treating any one projection as fact. Sharp Six explicitly identifies the 12-game slate but notes its ownership is modelled, not measured. Shark Snip also identifies the 629-player MAIN slate and currently has Josh Allen 11.7%, Puka Nacua 34.8% and Jaxon Smith-Njigba 19.6%. RotoWire’s current page explicitly identifies the same 12-game DraftKings slate. CTS uses these as inputs, then adjusts for public DFS attention and current injuries.

Josh Allen $7,700 8-12% Highest raw ceiling

Patrick Mahomes $6,500 4-7% Late-slate ceiling
Jacoby Brissett $5,000 3-6% Salary-driven value stack
Brock Purdy $6,700 3-6% Late leverage
Lamar Jackson $7,300 2-5% Rushing ceiling

Running Back Ownership

RB Salary CTS Range Read
Derrick Henry $8,400 17-25% Good chalk, multi-TD path
Chase Brown $6,100 13-20% Top game environment
James Cook III $7,400 10-18% Buffalo scoring exposure
Christian McCaffrey $7,700 10-16% Premium leverage
Kenneth Walker III $8,200 9-14% Charbonnet/Price OUT raises workload ceiling
Jeremiyah Love $5,800 8-12% Role riser
Aaron Jones Sr. $6,000 7-11% Jefferson OUT can add receiving work
Kyren Williams $5,900 6-12% Major model disagreement
D’Andre Swift $6,400 6-10% Stable mid-range role
Braelon Allen $5,200 6-12% Breece Hall OUT creates injury value

Wide Receiver Ownership

WR Salary CTS Range Read
Puka Nacua $7,500 25-35% Strongest cross-model chalk signal
Jaxon Smith-Njigba $9,100 16-21% Premium ceiling spend
Parker Washington $6,500 12-20% Sunday industry attention rising
Ja’Marr Chase $8,100 10-18% Top stack ceiling
Tee Higgins $6,100 9-15% Popular Burrow attachment
Nico Collins $7,200 8-13% Favorite Houston leverage
Jordan Addison $5,300 8-14% Jefferson OUT creates target bump
Garrett Wilson $6,800 7-12% Concentrated Jets target tree
Rashee Rice $6,400 6-10% Improving role
Michael Wilson $5,500 5-9% Arizona leverage

Tight End Ownership

TE Salary CTS Range Read
Trey McBride $6,500 10-15% Top raw TE
George Kittle $5,100 9-14% Strong mid-tier ceiling
Travis Kelce $5,000 6-10% Sunday-morning industry support
Brock Bowers $6,900 5-9% Premium leverage, status must be confirmed
Dalton Kincaid $5,300 5-8% Buffalo correlation
Brenton Strange $3,200 4-8% Cheap JAX-CIN correlation
Tyler Higbee $3,100 3-7% Usage-based value

DST Ownership

Defense remains the least stable ownership position. Minnesota, Baltimore, Seattle, Green Bay and the cheap Bears/Rams/Cardinals tier are the main clusters we expect the field to use. We prefer using ranges internally rather than pretending a single DST percentage is known before lock.

Good Chalk

Puka Nacua is the strongest cross-model chalk signal and still a play we are willing to use. Derrick Henry and Chase Brown have clear role and game-environment cases even if their final ownership lands toward the top of our ranges.

Fragile Chalk

Defense is the easiest place to move away from concentrated ownership. Parker Washington is a strong play, but if his Sunday-morning popularity keeps rising, Cincinnati-Jacksonville stacks can differentiate through Jakobi Meyers, Brenton Strange or Brian Thomas Jr.

Best Leverage

Christian McCaffrey, Nico Collins and Brock Bowers remain our preferred ceiling leverage plays. Kenneth Walker III also gets a meaningful Sunday bump with Zach Charbonnet and Jadarian Price officially out.

Sunday-Morning Injury Adjustments

Justin Jefferson being OUT raises Jordan Addison’s expected popularity. Breece Hall being OUT pushes Braelon Allen into the value conversation. Seattle’s backfield absences increase Kenneth Walker’s appeal. Zay Flowers is officially questionable but expected to play per NFL.com; Ladd McConkey is officially questionable but likely to play per NFL.com; Mike Evans remains a true game-time decision. We are not converting any of those reports into confirmed ACTIVE status until the official inactive lists say so.

CTS Ownership Takeaway

The useful signal is where independent same-slate models and public DFS analysis agree. Puka is the clearest receiver chalk signal. Cincinnati-Jacksonville remains the most popular stack environment. The RB field is much less settled, which makes role, correlation and actual ceiling more important than chasing a single ownership number.
